Progressive Democrats are so angry at Sen. Joe Lieberman, they want to punish his wife, Hadassah.
Lieberman stunned and infuriated Democrats - most recently this weekend - by saying he will oppose the health care reform plan Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is currently finalizing.
The liberal activists want to see Hadassah Lieberman booted from her position as "Global Ambassador" for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
And they've called on a range of stars, including Andie MacDowell, Christie Brinkley, Cynthia Nixon and Ellen DeGeneres, to help pressure the famed breast-cancer research group.
Jane Hamsher, of the progressive Firedoglake blog, mounted her campaign Friday, writing to Komen to dump Hadassah. Hamsher cited the senator's wife's past work for pharmaceutical outfits and others.
Hamsher, herself a breast-cancer survivor, argues "no more money raised for cancer treatment be given to Hadassah Lieberman or any other ex-Pharma/Insurance strategists."
Komen has thus far not been inclined to listen.
Note from Fellow Patriot of CIC: Glenn Beck stated on his show tonight (12/16) that Jane Hamsher, who launched this campaign against Mrs. Lieberman, dated Andy Stern of SEIU for two years! What a coincident that she is fighting for Obama!

Progressives across the country are growing increasingly frustrated with Sen. Joe Lieberman and now at least one group has decided to do something about it — attack his wife! Liberal website Firedoglake launched a campaign against Hadassah Lieberman on Friday to remove her from her position as "Global Ambassador" for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation because "of the inherent conflict of interest her continued presence brings." The site has called on celebrities who've raised money for the charity, like Ellen and Neil Patrick Harris, to help oust Lieberman, who has previously consulted for large pharmaceutical companies. The charity, so far, hasn't budged. "We have every intention of continuing our relationship with Ms. Lieberman in our mutual pursuit of a world without breast cancer," a spokesman said.
